Peter Philippe (Pitt) Weiss

Peter Philippe Weiss, born 1962 in Basel, acts as a consultant, composer, sound artist, sound designer, producer, TEDx speaker and guest lecturer at HSG University St. Gallen, CEIBS, Graubünden University of Applied Science, ZHW, ZHAW and Visual Art School Bern. Since 1994 he runs Corporate Sound AG. 2013 to 2020 Peter Philippe Weiss was consistently member of the Red Dot Design Award Jury. Since 2022 he is involved in the startup audiobreeze.

DESIGN
In 1994 Peter Philippe Weiss founded Corporate Sound AG (www.corporate-sound.com) in Basel, thereby creating the first professional communication agency for sound branding worldwide. Today, the Corporate Sound AG attends to national and international clients in all applications of sound in corporate communication. Clients include ABB, B. Braun, coop, Diners Club, VALSER/Coca Cola, Deutsche Telekom, IWC, Intersport, Swiss Olympic, Swarowski and others. In 2009 Corporate Sound AG was awarded by the Red Dot Design Award for sound branding. And as the winner of an international sound design contest, Corporate Sound AG is Deutsche Telekom’s regular contractual partner in the range of „Product & Innovation“. ART
Peter Philippe Weiss enjoyed classical violin training. He plays four other musical instruments and has been researching the effect of sound in space and as an imaginative dimension for over 20 years. In 2001 Peter Philippe Weiss composed and produced the CD “zen jazz” an atmospheric jazz-lounge styled disc.

In 2005 he realised an artistic city sound installation in the middle of Basel’s town centre, consisting of 16 different sound sources, and with the power of about 20'000 Watts, incorporating new spaces into the existing sound environment with highly realistic soundscapes. Two years later, on the occasion of the 2. Hörforum of Osnabrück University, he made sound to emerge from the sewers of Osnabrück’s Marktplatz and one year later in Basel’s city center in an installation called unterwelten (underworlds). In 2008 Weiss wrote the score for the feature film MANIPULATION starring Klaus-Maria Brandauer und Sebastian Koch.

In 1999 Weiss published the first CD “musicomix” with comic storytelling-songs. 2008 he realised ‘mindgames’ as a performing artist. 2015 he continues this art and performance project - a fusion of poetry, music and cinematic soundworlds - as ‘Der Träumer’ (www.traeumer.com).

Since 2029 he works on a choir composition - “A cathedral of voices” (www.choir-space.com)
